General Henry Knox Museum houses artifacts of the Knox family including furniture, portraits, silver, porcelain, ledgers, Revolutionary War mementos and the largest collection of 18th century furniture by Benjamin Frothingham. These items are displayed in the reconstruction of what was once called "the most beautiful house in Maine; perhaps the most beautiful house in all of New England." Almost all of the 22 rooms of the museum are open to the public.

The New Wyeth Center opened on June 21, 1998. American art. Its distinguished collection of over 5000 works spans three centuries. There are significant artworks by 19th. century landscape and marine artists N.C., Andrew, and Jamie Wyeth. There are works by Hopper, Nevelson, Indiana, Bellows, and numerous contemporary artists.

One of the worlds finest collections of pioneer automobiles, aircraft, engines, motorcycles, bicycles and carriages. I have personally seen a "Stealth Bomber", and a Harrier, not to mention countless other exotic and strange vehicles and engines over the years. Every two weeks there is a theme show highlighting one form of transportation or another. All shows usually include an airshow!

The Penobscot Marine Museum is a seafaring village of nine historic buildings with special exhibitions and an excellent collection of marine paintings.

The largest collection of lighthouse and Coast Guard artifacts on display in the country.

Housed in an old brick schoolhouse, the museum features exhibits on the Friendship Sloop.

This red brick farmhouse full of artifacts sits at the end of Knox Street, which was originally the driveway to the Knox estate.

Located in the lighthouse is a display of memoribilia from the town of St. George and its lighthouses.

Displays on coopering, cobbling, farm tools and equipment, and antique dolls. Housed in an early 19th century one-room schoolhouse.

A fine example of a 1700's home. Displays of town records, photographs and artifacts from Owls Head and South Thomaston.

House, Barn, Smithy, Maple Sugar House & Museum. One of the earliest houses in the region. Built about 1770.
