On March 23, 2001, Appleton Village School eighth-graders Lizzy Vaughan, Hannah Ford, Jesse Thompson, Rachael Clark, Dan Ellis, Margaret Buell, Nick Hughes, and seventh-grader Ari Blethen typed into computers information from 1068 cards representing the library's fiction holdings.
