Raffle tickets cost $100.00 each.
Persons or entities may purchase as many raffle tickets as they a wish. There is a limit of 500 raffle tickets being sold. The directors, officers and employees of the Mildred Stevens Williams Memorial Library and all involved businesses and sponsors are eligible to win.
The Mildred Stevens Williams Memorial Library shall appoint a single individual who will be responsible for maintaining control and security of the raffle ticket stubs. This individual shall certify that all raffle tickets purchased have their stub in the container of stubs where the winning raffle tickets will be drawn.
The public drawing will be on Columbus Day holiday, Monday, October 13, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the Library reading room at 2957 Sennebec Rd., Appleton, Maine. Buyers may attend the drawing, but winners need not be present to win. Winners not present will notified by phone by October 20, 2008.
Three runner-up ticket stubs will also be drawn and held in reserve in case the prize is not collected by the first winner.
The raffle winner has (2) weeks to claim his or her chosen prize, or a new winner will be selected from alternates.
The prize may be claimed in person or it may be delivered to the designated winner's address if it is within 20 miles of Union, Maine. Winners will be responsible for shipping expenses to distances further away.
This is not a tax deductible contribution.
The raffle is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and is void wherever prohibited or restricted by law.
In the event that less than 200 tickets are sold, the trustees of the library may cancel the raffle.
If for any reason the raffle is canceled, Mildred Stevens Williams Memorial Library will reimburse each raffle ticket purchaser within sixty (60) days of the raffle cancellation date.
Proceeds of the raffle are for the benefit of Mildred Stevens Williams Memorial Library, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization registered with the Secretary of State of Maine.
