Content Filtering - Enforcing

If this service is very important to your business or family, it may be worthwhile to check to make sure it is working by visiting a banned site on ocassion to make sure the configuration is in effect. It is possible for a child or employee to either unintentionally or intentionally disable the content filtering. Software upgrades or uninstalling and reinstalling software could also clear out the settings required for content filtering.

If you have a wireless or DSL internet connection, your firewall may be able to be configured to block normal web access. In that case, only access through our proxy server to the web would be permitted. MIS may be able to set this up for firewalls which we have provided. If your firewall was provided by another company, contact the installer or firewall vendor for assistance. Blocking unfiltered web access at the firewall would require all computers behind the firewall to have our settings in effect in order to surf the web at all. Ask for this change only after the content filtering service is working properly on each computer.
