Transferring Files to Midcoast.com with WS_FTP

WSFTP is a program you can use to transfer files from your local computer
to Midcoast's Site. You can upload web pages or images for online auctions
and sharing images with family and friends.

Local System is your computers hard drives.
Remote System is our midcoast.com server.
You need to press connect in the bottom left hand corner.
 


This Screen shows the properties of the connection you are going to make to us.
Our FTP server is midcoast.com and that would go in the Host Name / Address
box. User ID would be the username you connect with us, its also your
email address without the @midcoast.com. Your password is the same with which
you log onto our system and check email with.

On the Remote System side of the screen it will show
/home/your username/
To upload web pages you need to go into public_html by double clicking on it with your mouse on the Local System side you can double click on the up arrow to move up
or back a directory from c:\program files\wsftp to the directory where your files are
located, like C:\My Documents.

On the local system highlight the file or files you would like to upload.
You can double click on the file to upload it or click on the arrow in the
middle that points right to copy to your public_html directory

Your public_html directory is the location where you can store files a web page, and
index.html is the opening page when going to your account. http://www.midcoast.com/~username/
you can remove the default index.html from your public_html directory, and that
will allow you to see a list of files in the public_html directory.
 


Transfer Status will show you the speed and progress of transferring a file or files
from one system to another. 

When the file is done being transferred it will show up on the remote system screen.
