Changing your IP Address

To change your IP address please flow the step by step instructions below.

NOTE: These images are just samples to provide help.

  1. Double-Click on "My Computer"


  2. Double-Click on "Control Panel"


  3. Double-Click on "Network"


  4. Now you should see something similar to the "TCP/IP for Ethernet Adapter". You should only have one of these. Once you have found this, Double-Click on the TCP/IP for Ethernet Adapter" again it may not apear as this.


  5. Now you should see a screen like this. You now want to type in the IP Address & Subnet mask that was given to you by Midcoast Internet Solutions (MIS). Once you are done doing that. Click the "DNS Configuration" Tab.


  6. Now where is says "DNS Server Search Order" You want to type in: 10.0.0.1.
    Now click the "Add" button. Once you are done with that Click the "Gateway" Tab


  7. Great! Almost their. All you have to do now is type in the new "Gateway" number then click "Add"
    You may already see a gateway number already their. If so click on it and select the "Remove" button.


  8. Once you have done this. Keep Clicking OK until your Computer will prompt you with a message asking if you want to restart your computer. Click "Yes". Once your computer has restarted you should be back in business.
