Computer for the VERY Beginner
Computer Lab
AutoCad LT - Introduction
This course will consist of lecture and lab time with explanations of the abilities and limitations of AutoCAD LT 2002. Instruction includes: use of commands and system variables, drawing creation, paper space/model space, coordinate entry, revising, inquiring, browsing, dimensioning, blocks and Wblocks, layering, text and plotting, plus much more. Basic Windows skills are required, some drafting experience is helpful and recommended. Please note this class will meet twice a week, on Monday and Wednesday evenings, beginning January 23, for a total of 16 hours. Registration fee $50.

Computer for the VERY Beginner
This NON-technical class will introduce those who have NO computer background to the basics. Topics covered will include word processing and the Internet, as well as basics like the keyboard, disks, and other scary computer terms. This class will be using PC's. Registration fee $35.

Blogging
Have you heard about Blogging, but aren't really sure what it is? Have you ever wanted your own simple-to-maintain website? Would you like a place to put your thoughts and ideas online for all to see? In our Blogging class we will talk about web logs and online journals, and set up free blogs online! When we are done you will have your own website, perfect for publishing family news and whatnot for the world to enjoy, or keep it private as an outlet for your innermost thoughts. Registration fee $15.

e-Bay - Buying and Selling
Welcome to an introduction of this exciting on-line auction. You can find almost anything you are looking for on e-Bay - and even more that you aren't! In the first week you will learn how to register, bid, buy and pay for items. Then, after you know how to buy on-line, you will be ready to learn how to sell in week two. Learn how to list, add photos and some basic HTML to spice up your items to be auctioned. Registration fee $30.

FileMaker Pro Version 6 - Introduction
Learn the power of this relational data base and why every business should have one! Topics will include: data base strategy, creating fields, layouts, parts, buttons, formatting, scripts, reports, adding graphics, stand alone and relational data bases, mail merge, and training in the use of data bases. Hands on in PC lab using FileMaker Version 6.0. Use of Version 7 will be discussed. PC and Mac users welcome. Please note, this class will meet on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings for 2 weeks, beginning January 24, for a total of 8 hours. Registration fee $40.

FileMaker Pro Version 6 - Next Step

This class is for people who have either taken the Introduction to FileMaker Pro class or who are familiar with the basics of FileMaker Pro. It will cover more advanced data base techniques including scripts, relational data base design (how and why) and the power of reports. Specifics will be taught based on class input. Hands on in PC lab using FileMaker Version 6.0. Version 7 will be available for review and discussion. PC and Mac users welcome. Please note, this class will meet on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings for 2 weeks, beginning February 7, for a total of 8 hours. Registration fee $40.

Internet for Seniors - Basics
Would you like to learn what the whole world is talking about when it says things like "surf the net" and "check my e-mail"? We will show you how easy the Internet is to use. Each participant will work at a computer (PC) in this hands-on class. Registration fee $10, includes senior discount.

Internet for Seniors - Next Step
If you have had the introductory class, or you know the basics, it may be time for trying the next level. In Internet for Seniors - Next Step, we will explore downloading text and images from the Internet, copying material from the Internet, saving and filing messages in free email programs, sending and receiving email attachments (images and documents), and other "advanced" topics. No registration fee.

MacIntosh for Intermediate - More From Your Mac
Have you been using your Mac for sometime now and feel quite comfortable with it - but would like to move up to the next level? Whether it's getting Automator to do some of your repetitive work for you, getting a quick look at the Terminal program and Unix, or just learning how to be more efficient in your everyday use of the Mail program, this class is for you. Some familiarity with Tiger (10.4) is strongly suggested before taking this class. Registration fee $20.

Learn how to create financial forecasts and do sophisticated "what if" analysis using Microsoft Excel. Photoshop for Beginners

Prepare for the Computer Crash
When your PC crashes it is too late to get your files in order. Learn how, when and what to back up on your PC. We will discuss the different backup techniques and media that you can use. We will also discuss clean up and maintenance things to be doing to help your computer avoid crashes and work a bit faster. You know it's going to happen; will you and your computer be ready? Website Creation From Scratch
Learn how to obtain a domain name, find out how to host your website, learn some basic tips on figuring out how to have your site built or build it yourself. This is not a website design class, but it will help to prepare you for the next step of promoting your site and getting customers to visit it. Registration fee $15.

Website Design Using GoLive
This is a hands-on course designed for beginning to intermediate website designers. GoLive is more comprehensive than your basic website utilities, and is fully integrated with all of the Adobe products, including PhotoShop and InDesign. Come explore the possibilities! Though GoLive runs on both PCs and Macs, this course will be taught on Macs. No HTML needed, but you need to be both competent with your computer's operating system and have an idea in mind of a website you would like to design. Registration fee $45.
