Jason Philbrook ~ Founder/Owner and Systems Administrator Jason started Midcoast Internet Solutions after leaving Worcester Polytechnic Institute in the spring of 1995. He has two years of college under his belt, and plans to never stop learning. Jason's workday includes Linux server administration, network design and troubleshooting, broadband administration, researching new technology, working with vendors, and brewing excellent coffee. Constant technology upgrades and overseeing service to thousands of customers keep Jason very busy at Midcoast Internet Solutions. Outside of work, Jason enjoys classic cars, motoring, photography and history. He also volunteers with his wife, Allison, at church and school. They live in Owls Head with a baby daughter Emma, and a tiger cat named Hobbes.

Bill Batty ~ Customer Mananger / Public Relations bbatty@midcoast.com Bill Batty Jr. started with us in the fall of 1999. He is in charge of all of our print, radio, and television advertising. He also does all the coordination for our trade shows, and is the builder and maintainer of the Rockland office's Macquarium. In his "spare" time, Bill plays drums for three local bands, teaches drums out of his home, teaches various adult-ed classes, and designs a web-page or two. He and his beloved wife Susan have three children: daughter Julia and twin boys Matthew and Nathaniel.

Gina Fowlie ~ Bookkeeper billing@midcoast.com Gina joined the MIS accounting staff in September of 2000 on a part time basis. Gina enjoys working at this community-based company, which takes a real interest in its clients. She also attends UMA on a regular basis, dabbling in a variety of interest, from economics to meteorology. She jokes that she hasn't decided what she want to be when she grows up yet. Meanwhile, when she's not working, Gina enjoys traveling, writing and the theater.

Ron Goff ~ Technical Support/Server Maintenance ron-work@midcoast.com Ron joined our staff in the winter of 1999 and has been working with computers and in the technology field for several years. He has a strong background working with the IBM/PC platform and is always trying to stay aware of new and upcoming Internet and computer trends and technologies. In his spare time Ron enjoys spending time with his family.

Dan Pease ~ Technical Support dpease@midcoast.com Dan joined the MIS staff in May of 2007. He is a graduate of the University of Maine Orono with a degree in Business Administration. He enjoys spending his free time outdoors and riding his motorcycle.

Cameron Kilton ~ Wireless Technician/Assistant Systems Administrator cam@midcoast.com Cameron joined the MIS staff in October of 2002. Cameron primarily does work in the Broadband department. His job includes installing new wireless broadband customers, expanding coverage in the region by installing new wireless broadband towers and installing and upgrading repeater sites. Cameron also works very close with Jason in systems administration and has been called “JP’s little helper.” Cameron’s hobbies are playing sports, building/assembling different things and spending time with his wife Whitney and two boys C.J. & Isaiah.

Barry Spofford ~ Wireless Technician/Technical Support barry@midcoast.com Barry joined the MIS team in the beginning of 2000, bringing with him experience in digital satellite installation and electronics manufacturing. He also had worked as a field technician for a digital cable company. He enjoys the positive attitude that surrounds MIS and the dedication to customer service. When not at MIS he plays drums, engineers multitrack recordings in his home studio and spends time with his family.

Stacy Spofford ~ Billing Department billing@midcoast.com Stacy works for our accounting staff on a part time basis.   She is also employed at the Law Office of Carol R. Emery in Rockland as a legal secretary.  She and her husband, Barry, who also works for MIS, live in Thomaston with their two children, Zachary and Sydney.  In her free time she enjoys cooking, cardio kickboxing, and hiking with her family.

Ray Stevens ~ Technical Support rays@midcoast.com Ray started with MIS in July of 2000 and brought with him a Microsoft A+ certification and years of experience in service and sales of computers. When he is not helping people with the Internet, he is the coach of one of the Bristol farm teams and the Vice President of the Route 66 All Seasons Club. He enjoys wilderness camping in northern Maine with his wife Jennifer and sons Jacob and Cooper, ATVing, white water canoeing, fly-fishing, hunting and is a Registered Maine Guide.

Jim Thompson ~ Web Hosting Manager /Technical Support jt@midcoast.com Jim started working at MIS in the fall of 1998 with a background in communications and customer service and support. He attended The University of Maine in Augusta for architectural design and also has a bachelors degree in business administration from American Intercontinental University. His hobbies include listening to music (especially live jazz), hi fi audio/video, occasional travel, his car, target shooting and of course the internet. Jim likes to give back to his community by being involved at his church as well as through serving on  the city parking committee.  Jim's longevity with the company means he has seen a lot of changes and he looks forward to helping Midcoast Internet Solutions meet the challenges of the future.

Pete Tyler ~ Technical Support ptyler@midcoast.com Pete started with MIS in August of 2006.  He has lived in the mid-coast area all of his life.  A majority of his previous work experience has been customer service, and he enjoys talking with customers.  When not at work, he is spending time with his beautiful wife, gaming on-line, building computers, surfing the web, playing playstation, or watching a good movie.

Chip Webber ~ Technical Support chipw@midcoast.com Chip joined Midcoast in the Fall of 2004 and works part-time at the Newcastle office. He graduated in 1991 from the computer science program at Andover College and brings considerable experience in computer repair and network administration to the company. Chip specializes in home Wi-Fi installations.

Lt. Charles Straeger ~ Fish straeger@midcoast.com Lt. Charles Straegar is the official mascot of the office, and greets people as they come in the door. Strange to have a fish with first and last name? Sure. Strange that a fish took a commission as a Navy pilot? Definitely. But he does good work, and didn't demand any exorbitant salary, so we bought him. Say hi to Straeger (he goes by his last name) when you stop in to MIS North.
