Jason Philbrook ~ Founder/Owner and Systems Administrator Jason started Midcoast Internet Solutions after leaving Worcester Polytechnic Institute in the spring of 1995. He has two years of college under his belt, and plans to never stop learning. Jason's workday includes Linux server administration, network design and troubleshooting, broadband administration, researching new technology, working with vendors, and brewing excellent coffee. Constant technology upgrades and overseeing service to thousands of customers keep Jason very busy at Midcoast Internet Solutions. Outside of work, Jason enjoys classic cars, motoring, photography and history. He also volunteers with his wife, Allison, at church and school. They live in Owls Head with a baby daughter Emma, and a tiger cat named Hobbes.

Bill Batty ~ Customer Manager / Public Relations bbatty@midcoast.com Bill Batty Jr. started with us in the fall of 1999. As Customer Manager, he's responsible for the day-to-day running of the office, and most importantly he's in charge of accounts receivable (sending you your bill!).  He also does most of the marketing. In his spare time, Bill likes to play the drums, and can also be seen bombing around the streets of Rockland on his motorscooter. He and his beloved wife Susan have three children: daughter Julia and twin boys Matthew and Nathaniel.

Jeff Coffin ~ Wireless Technician jeff@midcoast.com Jeff joined Midcoast in 2008 and works at the Rockland office.

Gina Fowlie ~ Bookkeeper billing@midcoast.com Gina joined the MIS accounting staff in September of 2000 on a part time basis. Gina enjoys working at this community-based company, which takes a real interest in its clients. She also attends UMA on a regular basis, dabbling in a variety of interest, from economics to meteorology. She jokes that she hasn't decided what she want to be when she grows up yet. Meanwhile, when she's not working, Gina enjoys traveling, writing and the theater.

Ron Goff ~ Technical Support/Server Maintenance ron-work@midcoast.com Ron joined our staff in the winter of 1999 and has been working with computers and in the technology field for several years. Ron can be found in the Rockland Office answering phones and helping customers in the front lobby. He has a strong background working with the IBM/PC platform and is always trying to stay aware of new and upcoming Internet and computer trends and technologies. In his spare time Ron enjoys spending time with his family and gaming online with his friends.

Cameron Kilton ~ Assistant Systems Administrator/Project Manager/Wireless Technician cam@midcoast.com Cameron joined MIS in October of 2002. Cameron keeps his hands involved with many parts of the company. His primary focux is the expansion of our large wireless network and high interest in new Fiber Optic technologies. In his spare time, he enjoys participating in different sporting activities as well as coaching youth sports, building & tinkering with almost anything; spending time with friends and his wife Whitney and their three children.

Barry Spofford ~ Wireless Technician/Technical Support barry@midcoast.com Barry joined the MIS team in the beginning of 2000, bringing with him experience in digital satellite installation and electronics manufacturing. He also had worked as a field technician for a digital cable company. He enjoys the positive attitude that surrounds MIS and the dedication to customer service. When not at MIS he plays drums, engineers multitrack recordings in his home studio and spends time with his family.

Stacy Spofford ~ Billing Department billing@midcoast.com Stacy works for our accounting staff on a part time basis.   She is also employed at the Law Office of Carol R. Emery in Rockland as a legal secretary.  She and her husband, Barry, who also works for MIS, live in Thomaston with their two children, Zachary and Sydney.  In her free time she enjoys cooking, cardio kickboxing, and hiking with her family.

Ray Stevens ~ Technical Support rays@midcoast.com Ray started with MIS in July of 2000 and brought with him a Microsoft A+ certification and just over 2 years of experience in service and sales of computers. When he is not helping people with the Internet, He enjoys wilderness camping in northern Maine with his wife Jennifer and sons Jacob and Cooper, ATVing, White Water Canoeing, Fly-Fishing, Hunting and is a Registered Maine Guide.

Jim Thompson ~ Web Hosting Manager /Technical Support jt@midcoast.com Jim has been working at MIS since 1998.  He has a degree in business management and some design education as well.  Jim has worked in many areas of the company over the years but he currently manages web hosting, helps on the tech floor, and assists in the marketing department.  In his free time he enjoys spending quality time with his wife.  Jim enjoys giving back to the community through his church where he likes to get involved.  He is currently MIS's longest serving employee.

Peter Tyler ~ Technical Support ptyler@midcoast.com Peter started with MIS in August of 2006.  He has lived in the mid-coast area all of his life.  A majority of his previous work experience has been customer service.  When not at work, he is spending time with his beautiful wife and adorable daughter, gaming on-line,  playing playstation, catching up on the latest Heroes episodes, or watching a good movie.

Chip Webber ~ DSL Coordinator/Technical Support chipw@midcoast.com Chip joined Midcoast in the Fall of 2004 and works at the Nobleboro office. He graduated in 1991 from the computer science program at Andover College and brings considerable experience in computer repair and network administration to the company. Chip specializes in DSL.

Burton Wilcox ~ Wireless Technician bwilcox@midcoast.com Burton joined Midcoast in 2009 and works at the Rockland office.

Cal Latham ~ Technical Support cal@midcoast.com Cal joined Midcoast in 2008 and works part-time at the Rockland office. Cal started in the IT world in 1961 in Boston working for IBM on punched card accounting machines. When he retired in 1991 he was working on Water-cooled mainframes and PC's. 'Retiring' to the Mid-Coast he soon went to work for Coastal Communications installing radios and communications equipment for public safety and business customers. 'Retiring' after 16 years at that he came to work for MIS in February of 2008. Presently he is the 'senior' member in age of the active MIS team. In his spare time he enjoys Ham Radio, working on PC's and spending time with his wife, Trish.

Phil Czak ~ Technical Support pczak@midcoast.com Phil recently started working part time for us, and is the newest member of the MIS team. He graduated from the University of Hartford in 1968 with a degree in electro/mechanical technology. He moved to Maine 33 years ago. Since then he has owned and operated his woodworking business, and recently graduated from the University of Maine with a BS in Library Science. He has worked part time for the last 8 years as the technical librarian for the Thomaston Public Library. He lives with his wife Liz and has two grown children. His hobby is working on old cars.
