April 2007
- April 16, 2007 Outages: as of 4:40pm,
downtown
Camden is without power and our batteries there are exhausted. This
affects downtown Camden and Ragged mountain based customers.
North Haven water tower is running on battery power, Kent Cove
North Haven repeater is without any power. We don't know when North
Haven went to battery power, but we should have about eight hours total
battery power there.
Nobleboro and Westport are running on generator fine. Union is back
up.
Squirrel Island and Isle of Spring are without power. Waterman's
beach repeater in South Thomaston is without power.
- April 16, 2007 Good Morning! There are widespread power
outages many places today. Westport is running on generator. Nobleboro,
which affects DSL and dialup in the Tidewater areas, is being moved to
generator now that it's battery has run down. Union has had its
batteries run down and is without power, affecting Union dialup and
wireless. Belfast, Kents Cove and Oak Hill repeaters on North Haven,
were without power for a short time and are fine now. Isle of Spring and
Clary Hill are without power.
- April 6, 2007 4:15pm. A major power outage in Lincoln County
is affecting our DSL and Dialup in the Tidewater areas. We have a person
going to start the generator for that gear now. Westport has automatic
generator and is fine. Update: 4:50pm. Electricity is restored.
- April 5, 2007 Squirrel Island and Isle of Spring in Lincoln
County are without power. This affects our service at those islands.
- April 5, 2007 There's some trouble with one of the wireless
access points at the Wayfarer Marine Building. Cam has done some
preliminary testing, and he thinks he knows what's wrong. We need for it
to stop snowing before we can test further, however.
- April 5, 2007 Our Newcastle office is currently without
power. Since the phone system requires electricity, our voice mail
system isn't picking up. For the time being, if you need us, try our
Rockland office at 207-594-8277.
- April 3, 2007 A few of the customers aiming to Ragged from
the north parts of Camden have a degraded connection. We believe this is
being caused by unusually severe ice buildup on antennas at the top of
the mountain and there is nothing wrong with anyone's equipment.
Update April 4, 2007 11:40am. MIS staff and the tower site owner
visited the site and chipped off some of the ice. This fixed the
problem. Ice buildup had been between one and five inches.
- April 2, 2007 Some dialup customers are having trouble
dialing in this morning, getting either "dead air" or a
recording when the connection is unsuccessful. This major problem was
fixed by about 4:30pm.
