August 2000
- August 31, 2000 3:30-4:00pm. We will be testing and running
the backup generator at the Damariscotta NOC during this time. There
should be no interruption in service, but we wanted to alert folks of the
procdure.
- August 28, 2000 5:00-7:30pm We are having trouble with the
Benner Hill Wireless access point. This is affecting Union modems and
people who connect with Union or Benner Hill. 7:30pm. This was fixed by
replacing the amplifier at the tower site. A few mosquitoes died in the
proccess.
- August 21, 2000 6:15-6:30pm. dns.midcoast.com (the primary server)
had to be restarted.
- August 21, 2000 2:15pm. For about 5-10 minutes, sending email
from midcoast.com was troublesome. We traced this to Ebay overloading our
email servers. (Ebay had email trouble last week and they apparently their
mail got "backed up" there). We have rerouted ebay email through
our secondary mail server and things should be OK now.
- August 16, 2000 7:30am. One of the main routers decided to shut down for no apparent reason this morning.
The router was reset and is working as expected now.
- August 15, 2000 5:30pm. There was a power failure at our
benner hill site. The problem has been fixed. It affected parts of the Wireless
Network and the Union Dialup.
- August 15, 2000 8:30am. The 56k lines for Liberty (589-3003)
Stopped working it appears to be a T1 outage. Restarting our equipment
didn't fix anything. MIS has contacted Northland Telephone to have them
repair it.
- August 14, 2000 5:00pm. The Union 785-6622 number stopped
working for a short time. The T1 trunks had lots of errors, so we rebooted
the modem server there, the errors are gone, and things are working fine
now.
The following links represent all the sytyem notices from MIS since we started saving them in 1996. Happy Reading!
