- August 30, 2001 9:00am. A problem with the 563-8999 number has
been corrected. People were able to connect but not go anywherre. This was
a result of the problem below from yesterday.
- August 29, 2001 Noon: We are having trouble in Damariscotta and
are working on it. 3:30pm. Almost everything is fixed. The Cisco router in
Damariscotta "bought the farm" and we brought a spare
replacement from Rockland and configured it. At about 4:30pm, Everything
has been corrected.
- August 28, 2001 Starting during the afternoon, Adelphia cable modem
customers who have midcoast accounts have had trouble FTPing and checking mail
at Midcoast. This is due to a reverse DNS problem at Adelphia. Customers IP
addresses do not have corresponding hostnames. People affected by this should
contact Adelphia with this information.
- August 27, 2001 2:25pm. For about 5 minutes, Liberty was out of
service. This was an error cause by me and has been corrected by me
(Jason P). This also affected some Washington users for about 20 minutes.
- August 22, 2001 2:50pm. The MIS south office is with out power.
We are currently running on generator power. A car hit a pole out front of the
office causing the power to go out. UPDATE: 3:05pm CMP has the power back on!
Now that was fast work. Good job CMP.
- August 21, 2001 4:00pm. The time machine is out of service and
will be replaced most likely during the day tomorrow (Wednesday).
- August 17, 2001 4:30pm. For a while, the time machine and web
mail (mailman) will not be working. The server for this is being worked
on. 5:15pm. Mailman is working fine now. Next week sometime, this machine
(sip) will be out of service while a replacement computer is swapped in.
- August 9, 2001 6:00pm. One of the Versanet modem servers has
been replaced with a Patton modem server (2960-48 model). We were having
trouble with one of the Versanets, so we purchased this Patton. People who
dial this bank of numbers (593-9397, 832-9912, 236-2266) have a 1/3 chance
of landing on this new server. It is designed to support V.92 as well, but
V.92 software has not been officially released yet.
- August 8, 2001 3:45pm. One of the redundant ATT T1s are down.
This will cause some slowness to some sites while this is being fixed.
5:00pm. This is fixed (power cycled some phone company equipment.)
- August 6, 2001 3:00pm. Sugar.midcoast.com, a mail processing
machine has problems and is being rebuilt. No email is lost, but some
customers (with virtual domains) will see a delay in email while it is
being restored and rebuilt. Expect it to be back in service this evening.
Update 5:45pm - The server is fixed. New screaming Athlon machine,
new hard drive, new OS, and good old configuration files and account from
the offsite backup.
