- Saturday 08/24/1996 Union/Appleton/Hope (785) customers can have
the option of an idle/inactivity timeout if they so desire. These can be
setup on an individual basis to suit your needs (4 minutes to 4 hours)
Write webmaster@midcoast.com if you feel you need an idle-timeout.
- Friday 08/23/1996 A UPS truck full of new equipment (well,
not quite) arrived here. This means that over the next few days, more
lines will be available for 845, 596, 236, and 354 callers.
- Saturday 08/17/1996 and Sunday 08/18/1996 The time
machine for www.midcoast.com was incorrect. Things are fixed now.
- Friday 08/16/1996 8:30 - 10PM; Our internet provider had a
problem which kept us from the net for 90 minutes. If you had a hard time
getting places, thats why. Email service both ways was not hampered.
- Tuesday 08/13/1996 A collection of our best Quickcam Chicks

- Tuesday 08/13/1996 At about 2pm, all the big internet network
problems with Sprint, MCI, and BBN went away.
- Monday 08/12/1996 Nynex gave us an install date of the 16th
for the 56k into washington. Expect to see expanded dialup service in
Washingston aproximately once week from that day.
- Monday 08/12/1996 and Tuesday 08/13/1996 5pm-10am BBN Planet and
Sprint both seemed to
be having some router problems that affect internet service, not just to
us, but about everyone on the internet. (BBN and sprint are international
backbone providers)
- Friday 08/09/1996 9:25am. dns.midcoast.com, our main server
was rebooted for less than 5 minutes after 108 days of continuous service.
- Thursday 08/08/1996 Washington Customers: Leander
Hasty has an important letter about Washington's phone lines. Read it.
- Wednesday 08/07/1996 and Thursday 08/08/1996 While our network is
fine and in perfect operating condition, AOL has been mostly unusable
for these two days. If you have AOL problems on the internet, it is an AOL problem.
- Tuesday 08/06/1996 Our Virtual Web Server computer was
upgraded to allow the option of using Apache Secure Server (ssl).

- Saturday 08/03/1996 We were in the Lobster Festival Parade
and brought two of our chickens with us. (the ones on the quickcam) The
kids loved them.
