- December 30, 1996 Some circuits were down for a few minutes
today while we moved the wires and routers from our old office to the
machine room where the rest of our equipment is.
- December 17, 1996 The server dns.midcoast.com will be rebooted
at approximately midnight to clear network sockets. This will cause about
3 minutes of inabilty to access midcoast.com webpages or check email.
- December 16, 1996 We tried out a Philips/Magnavox WebTV and did
a write-up on it here
- December 16, 1996 Washington's 845-2080 number was repaired.
The Northland rep had found a problem outdoors causing the line to not
work well.
- December 16, 1996 Washington's 845-2080 number has a problem
and we are working with Northland to fix. You can dial 845-2078 to bypass
the defective line in the mean time.
- December 15, 1996 Outside
connectivity was affected by a
problem beyond our control in either Portland or New York from about 5 to
8:30am.
- December 6, 1996 Our satellite newsfeed link uplink
provider has
closed shop. We plan to set up a different newsfeed over the weekend. The details of the incident are here.
- December 4, 1996 The Satellite newsfeed link went down and is
being
fixed on the evening of the 5th. news still functions, but there are no
new articles coming in while it is down.
- December 3, 1996 The 56k Link to the Wiscasset POP was down for most of the morning due to unknown causes. We
will be replacing the one piece of hardware on the Damariscotta side of the connection to eliminate any chance of it
being the cause. We are working with Tidewater and Nynex to eliminate this problem.
