- July 26, 2000 2:00pm The T1 feeding the DSL service in Lincolnville is being moved to a different/more
capable router. This will provide marginally better performance for those in the Lincolnville DSL system as well as
allowing for future expansion and the addition of new customers to that service area. The router was reset during the
operation causing a short gap in service. DSL in Lincolnville is down currently as the Tidewater hardware is being
reconfigured. Update: The reprograming of the DSL gear in Lincolnville was completed by around 6pm.
- July 25, 2000 12:15am. Wireless will be down for about 5
minutes to perform a memory upgrade on the router in Owls Head which the
traffic goes through. This will also affect the Union modem number, as
well as the Rockland modem number which does not show up on the who is on
the modems page. Other service will not be affected.
- July 19, 2000 9pm. The news server company has added the new
T1's IP numbers into their configuration now. (This took longer than we
thought to have added). Some customers had trouble getting to the news
servers, and this correction should take care of it.
- July 19, 2000 For about 5-10 minutes during the afteroon, our
Sprint T1 was misbehaving. By the time I got ahold of someone at Sprint,
it fixed itself, and Sprint was unable to find anything wrong.
- July 14, 2000 General Notice - A report of the largest solar flare on record since 1989 has come out
accompanied by warnings of the effects this will have on some communication systems (not to mention the potential for
awesome northern lights show when the moon sets. Read More

- July 13-14, 2000 Midnight - The Damariscotta router will
undergo an addition of a couple of T1 ports. This will result in less than
5 minutes of downtime and will facilitate the addition of DSL
connections in the Lincolnville area. Update This job was completed in less than 5 minutes and went as planned.
- July 13, 2000 10:25am-10:30am. The T1 serving Washington and
Liberty went out of service for a few minutes. We didn't touch it, honest!
- July 12, 2000 3:52pm. A newsletter is being sent out to all MIS
customers over the next day or so. A copy of it is here.
- July 3, 2000 11:40am. The modem server mexican in
Washington (845-2002) was upgraded to newer software. People had been
having random trouble getting in on that number this morning.
- July 2, 2000 9:45. One of the dialup lines that serves 23
modems in Wiscasset is showing many errors. Bell will be looking at the
circuit this morning. This should not affect users. Update 11
AM-Well,
naturally the line is showing no problems at this time. (harumph!) The
tech is still looking at the line/pairs running into the building.
- July 1, 2000 Afternoon. Looks like there will be a short (30
minutes potentialy) outage for some internet users at an undetermined time
between 2pm and 7pm. This is NOT by our choice, but from our upstream
C&W. details from C&W are here.
This is said to be for service upgrade and testing.
