- June 30, 1997 We have upgraded a router in Rockland and one in
Damariscotta for performance reasons.
- June 30, 1997 We have created a webpage to assist people in
downloading and installing Internet Explorer 3. Check the help
pages.
- June 29, 1997 We have a small problem with the BBS which will
be fixed this evening.
- June 27, 1997 We've installed an internet terminal (full
computer system at a table) at Second Read Books and Coffee in Rockland.
For a few dollars, someone can access the internet, while enjoying the
food and caffeineated beverages.
- June 26, 1997 10am - Someone is working on the connection to
Portland, and there was a very short loss of service.
- June 22, 1997 Some of the virtual domains were affected this
evening by a hacking attempt. Everything has been corrected and is up
and going now. If you have any virtual webserver problems - please don't
hesitate to contact our office.
- June 21, 1997 A flakey modem was removed from
service in Damariscotta Saturday noon.
- June 16, 1997 We routed all outgoing traffic through our
Bangor connection to MCI. This should improve performance a small degree.
- June 16, 1997 News server is down due to the company which we
outsourced for news. We will have our dish going again in the next day or
two. They should have it fixed by then, but it will be less of a problem
at that point.
- June 14, 1997 Morning - Problems with Portland seem to be
ironed out. This week, we will be hooking up a third T1 with yet another
company, for less dependence on our Agate/Sprint Portland connection.
- June 13, 1997 5pm. One of our providers is having technical
troubles in Portland causing things to be slow and in some cases, unusable
for some customers. We will keep you posted.

- June 11, 1997 At near midnight, we will be upgrading the
software in the Rockland POP's router. Should take about 2 minutes if all
goes well.
- June 8, 1997 The Midcoast.com server was rebooted at 12:30 am.
- June 8, 1997 A hung modem was reset. Cause known.
- June 7, 1997 The Damariscotta hub was upgraded with the
installation of a Seagate scsi tape drive, Saturday noon and midnight.
There were short interruptions in service, no incoming mail was disturbed.
- June 4, 1997 The modem server hazelnut stopped responding this
am and was rebooted at 9:10. EMT squads arrived in time to avert serious
injury. When pressed for details, the driver of the modem refused to
answer questions.
