- Nov 27, 1996 Wiscasset POP power went out at 1pm on Tuesday
afternoon and was restored at 7am on Wednsday morning. The Battery backup
held the system until about 4pm, but it became neccessary to shut down.
- Nov 27, 1996 Washington's service was out from 2am to 3am
during an extended power failure which outlasted the UPS there. All other
areas were unaffected by power failures and flickers.
- Nov 26, 1996 Here is an
information bulletin concerning virus HOAXES on the internet (they are not
real viruses)
- Nov 26, 1996 Our internet service was unavailable for a period
of about 20 minutes this afternoon, while a router was replaced
(unscheduled) in Portland.
- Nov 15, 1996 We now have a ULS server for your convenience. If
you are a netmeeting user, you can, along with your friends, use
uls.midcoast.com for a place to hangout with netmeeting. It's a lot
faster than using the microsoft servers, and a whole lot less crowded.
- Nov 13, 1995 If you are a union user and have reliability
problems (disconnects, low speeds), drop a note to webmaster@midcoast.com.
Our equipment is all new, top of-the-line hardware and we are working with
Tidewater Telephone to find a resolutions to some hard-to-pin-down line
problems.

newsletter if they haven't already. We've posted
a copy of it here. Jim provides special Macintosh services for MIS.
- Nov 3, 1996 The news server news.midcoast.com is
getting news into it again. Our satellite news provider changed satellites
in the sky and did not email their customers. It took us a while to dig up
the important information regarding what happended and how to reprogram
our receiver and re-align the dish. If you use news, our news.midcoast.com
server should have some content on it within 24 hours.
