November 1999
- Nov 24, 1999 10:55am. For about 5 minutes, connectivity was
affected while zoombrew puked and had to be restarted.
- Nov 23, 1999 3:00 PM. Northland has replaced a terminator card at the Washington
POP, and will be replacing the same item in the Liberty POP next week. A very short blip in service was caused by this
maintenence, but should not have caused any loss of connectivity .
- Nov 21, 1999 8:30 PM. A Tech is on the way to Liberty to check the hardware.
9:30 PM: The telco terminator was frozen. All MIS equipment was reset with no effect.
The Northland terminator card was removed and reset and
the circuit came back. Thanks to Liberty Graphics folks for working with us to gain access.
- Nov 21, 1999 1:30 PM. The Liberty T1 is still not up. The telco
answering service indicates that the circuit is "ok", but our hardware and
software still shows it not functioning. We are able to access the routers on each
end, and have checked the Washington end in person. We are still waiting for
access to the Liberty POP.
- Nov 21, 1999 12:30 AM. The T1 line between Washington and Liberty is
down. Northland has been called.
- Nov 17, 1999 23 lines were hooked back up on 5939397 (the
versanet modem servers). One server had been having trouble, and new parts
have arrived and it is back on line now. There are 69 lines total at this
location.
- Nov 16, 1999 5:00pm. We fixed a problem where half the people
on the nuthercupfull modem server had trouble getting places. (This would
represent a small percentage of people online at any time) We suspect that
this was a today-only sort of trouble.
- Nov 16, 1999midnight- 12:30am. We are going to be working on
the second T1 to MIS to perform a software upgrade which will provide more
outgoing bandwidth. We do not expect this to disrupt connectivity, but
Bell Atlantic is involved. This was set for Nov 16, but will be
rescheduled, as Bell Atlantic was not ready for this. We will post a
date as soon as we know.
- Nov 15, 1999 3:15pm Some people may have trouble getting to
gwi.net, as they have a problem in Portland. This would also affect people
use the statewide access numbers. This was fixed within an hour.
- Nov 11, 1999 2:30 A problem with the router Zoombrew caused
an outage for about 10-15 minutes. Zoombrew was reset, and will be replaced
shortly.
- Nov 9, 1999 10:45pm. BA took down the second T1 of our internet
access for about an hour for testing. We'd been having problems which
affected Washington and Liberty. Things look on Nov, 10, we'll keep an eye
on it.
- Nov 9, 1999 1:15pm. For about 5 minutes, Washington and Liberty
were out of service due to some sort of problem with the Bell Atlantic
frame-relay system. It was corrected as I talked on the phone with BA.
- Nov 8, 1999 Some (1/3) of the modems on 593-9397 are not permitting people
to send email (but can receive it and browse just fine). We are conducting more
tests to try to narrow this down, and will take out of service and replace
specific pieces of equipment if necessary.
- Nov 8, 1999 Statewide Access is now available for MIS
customers! Visit
our list if this is of interest to you.
- Nov 8, 1999 A new number for Waldoboro is available. It is
832-9912 and rings into our 593-9397 hunt group.
- Nov 4, 1999 3:40pm The T1 that feeds the Damariscotta area was out of service for an unknown reason at 3:20 pm.
Although
all indications on the equipment showed there was no problem with the circuit, a power reset was able to bring the circuit
back up. Dialup services were interrupted for about 20 minutes.
- Nov 3, 1999 Sometime during the day today or tomorrow,
equipment will arrive that will allow us to have 23 more lines at
5939332/5938000/5962430/3388667/8325779. Update: 4:30pm, 23 lines were
added succesfully on a new modem server named tea.
