November 2000
- Novevmer 30, 2000 This evening, there is a Sprint problem
affecting some
dialup users. This started about 5:30pm. Using the proxy (address
10.0.0.3 port 8080) will get around this. We'll keep you posted
regarding when Sprint/Verizon/Whoever gets it fixed. This was fixed at
about 9:00pm.
- November 29, 2000 20 past midnight, Damariscotta/Wiscasset will
be moved to a different router in Owls Head. This will take about 5
minutes at the most. During that time, customers in Damariscotta/Wiscasset
will experience a short outage of probably a minute or two.
- November 28, 2000 Yes, a Sprint problem again. I'm on the phone
working with them. This causes some people not to get outside of
midcoast.com. I'll be discussing their quality problem with someone higher
up there today also. 8:30am. They've fixed the problem.
- November 25, 2000 2:00pm. For a short time, some people had
trouble sending email (but received OK) with midcoast.com. We restarted
some software and things are fine now.
- November 15, 2000 Due to problems with the Sprint T1, some
people can't get outside of midcoast.com. This is does affect webpage
hosting or email, just browsing. Using another Midcoast phone number (make
sure it's a local one please) or using the proxy server (10.0.0.3, port
8080) will take care of it). This is just a temporary problem which Sprint
is working on. This was fixed within an hour. Aparently some sort of
hardware problem at Sprint where they connect with other backbones. Our
circuit was fine.
- November 13, 2000 We noticed some performance problems in Union
(delay mostly). We restarted some pieces of equipment and it is fine now.
- November 8, 2000 at Midnight (the start of Nov 8), Northland
will interupt service for upto 15 minutes for an upgrade. We
thank them for letting us know in advance. This might affect Washington
and Liberty users.
