- Nov 24, 2004 8:00-10:00pm. Power was out at Ragged Mountain
and outlasted our battery backups there -
presumably due to the stormy weather. This affected wireless users who
aim to Ragged mountain during this time.
- Nov 23, 2004 A newsletter is being sent out. A copy is
here.
- Nov 17, 2004 5:05-5:20pm. The mail routing server for
virtual domains was not routing mail during this time due to an
unscheduled reboot. No mail was lost.
- Nov 17, 2004 10:40am. Some DSL customers had trouble after
this mornings reboot. Things are repaired now. This problem was the
result of a bug in the Cisco router at our datacenter.
- Nov 17, 2004 6:00am. The router Zoombrew will be upgraded.
This will cause about a five minute outage for internet traffic during
this time.
- Nov 17, 2004 6:00am. The equipment for tidewater area DSL
will be rebooted, causing a five minute outage for those users.
- Nov 16, 2004 Wireless
is available in Waldoboro now! Both
900mhz gold service and 5.8ghz platinum service are are available.
- Nov 12, 2004 The router Zoombrew went down from 11:30am until
11:50am. This affected some users browsing the Internet. Barry went to
the data center and "smartened it up."
- Nov 10, 2004 We've received word that AOL has added
midcoast.com to their E-Mail whitelist. This means the problem described
in the message below should be rectified. If users continue to
have problems with sending mail to AOL servers, please let us know.
- Nov 8, 2004 Some users may have had difficulty in the past
day or so sending messages to AOL users in a timely manner. This is an
issue caused by AOL. They are rate-limiting midcoast.com email to AOL
due to the volume we create. We have applied to be whitelisted at AOL
which would exempt midcoast.com from their automated rate-limiting
system.
- Nov 2, 2004 2:00pm. During the day, some users of the
internet accelerator service had problems. This has been diagnosed and
fixed.
- Nov 1, 2004 4:15pm The server for downtown Camden wireless
has been rebooted and caused an outage for about 2 minutes.
- Nov 1, 2004 Washington and Liberty users should note that
the 845 and 589 dialup numbers are no longer in service. Instructions
to change numbers are in the October 5 newsletter linked below.
