- October 26, 2001 Some sites may be slower than others this
evening due to a denial-of-service attact against MIS. We have put filters
in that reduce the effects of this, and AT&T is also working on a
filter to stop this from affecting us. Other than slowing some things down
temporarily, it is doing no harm to our equipment.
- October 25, 2001 People calling into the 563-8999 number were
getting an all circuits are busy error. Rebooting the modem server cleared
this problem up. People calling 563-6622 may have experienced the problem
of being able to log in and authenticate, but not being able to get out side
of the MIS network. A route was added to one of the routers to resolve this problem.
- October 11, 2001 Wireless users who access the omnidirectional
antenna at Ragged Mountain will have a 20-30 minute outage late this
morning while it is remounted and rewired.
- October 6, 2001 Power is out at our Wiscasset POP. CMP has been
notified and expects to have it fixed around 11:00am today. This will cause
a busy signal for people trying to call 882-9664 & 442-8652.
- October 5, 2001 At about 8:50am, power went out in Owls Head.
The generator was started right away, and few people if anyone noticed. At
about 9:30, someone threw the wrong switch causing some gear to lose
power. (human error). This was fixed at 10:00am. Power is restored now and
things are fine.
- October 4, 2001 8:00am. For a short time this morning, people were
unable to send email who were using midcoast.com as an smtp server. This
has been fixed and is fine now.
