- Oct 29, 1999 5:13pm. A weird problem with the nameservers at
mint.net was causing mutual customers of MIS and Mint to have trouble
sending email was discovered. This had been causing a problem for a few
days and was quite difficult to find. The proper people at mint.net have
been contacted to correct this minor problem.
- Oct 20, 1999 5:20pm. 1/3 of the lines on 593-9397 were out of
service this afternoon while we performed an upgrade. All 69 lines are
back in service at this time.
- Oct 20, 1999 11:00 A problem today sending email outside of midcoast.com from 593-9397 modems has been corrected.
- Oct 20, 1999 10:05am Service has been restored to the Wiscasset POP. A line card was replaced by BA, but that did
not bring it back. The BA tech then worked on tracing it back to the Telco CO to see where the problem was. Apparently it was
located and repaired.
9:00am Bell Atlantic has been called, they have to replace a piece of equipment at the Wiscasset POP.
8:30am The Wiscasset POP is out of service. We have someone from the southern office enroute to fix the problem.
- Oct 19, 1999 9am The Wiscasset POP is out of service. Preliminary information indicates that the BA circuit is not
functioning correctly. Customers dialing 8829664 or 4428652 are getting a busy signal currently. A BA tech has been dispatched
at 10:25 from Brunswick to Wiscasset. Service was restored at approx 11 am.
- Oct 19, 1999 We had a problem with one of the two Versanet
modem servers in Rockland for the 593-9397 number which reduced it's
capacity when the problem occured at midnight, and was fixed at 12:15 am.
(15 minutes).
- Oct 18, 1999 6:30am. Power is out at our Liberty location.
Power is back at 9:00am, but the T1 between Liberty and Washington is
still down. We have contacted Northland Telephone and await it's repair.
Things were fixed by noon.
- Oct 16, 1999 noon. Our wireless repeater in downtown Thomaston
is complete. This is on the fire station's tower, and is intended to
service the downtown area of Thomaston. A week earlier, our Union wireless
site was finished. This is on Barrett Hill in Union and services parts of
Union, Washington, Liberty, and Hope.
- Oct 15, 1999 11:30am. Liberty is back in service. The T1 data
line which links Liberty to Washington was repaired by Northland
Telephone.
- Oct 15, 1999 12:30am. The modem server for 593-9397 was moved
sucessfully. The pm3 modem servers in Owls Head for our Camden, Belfast,
Rockland, and Waldoboro numbers we upgraded at about 1:00am to the newest
Lucent software which we installed for testing on Oct 12 sucessfully.
- Oct 14, 1999 11:55pm. The primary modem server for 593-9397
will be unplugged and moved to the next room. This will interupt service
for about 3-5 minutes for that number. 593-9397 has 2 modem servers which
comprise 69 digital 56k-lines for dialin.
- Oct 14, 1999 Power is out in Liberty and Washington this
afternoon and evening due to the weather. We expect things to work again
once Central Maine Power has corrected the problems.
- Oct 12, 1999 12:30am. The modem server mug was upgraded to
newer software. This, according to Lucent, might improve some modem
connection issues. Other modem servers will be upgraded soon, and it's
most likely to happen shortly after midnight.
- Oct 8, 1999 2:10pm. The T1 to Washington is down. The phone
company has been notified of the problem and we hope they correct it soon.
This causes Liberty and Washington to be offline. This was fixed at about
5pm.
- Oct 6, 1999 3:20pm. Our registration form is online now. This
permits people to signup for internet access in a convenient way.
- Oct 6, 1999 1:15pm. The Benner Hill Omindirectional access
point was replaced. This had been rebooting itself and causing trouble for
a couple of wireless customers today. No other customers or wireless
customers in other areas were affected.
- Oct 5, 1999 6:10 - 6:20pm. A problem with the router Zoombrew
caused trouble accessing things outside of midcoast.com for a few minutes.
This was reset to fix the problem. A new router will be installed within a
week.
- Oct 5, 1999 3:00pm. 4 new lines were added in Liberty. Two more
will be added in a few days.
- Oct 5, 1999 Noon: Equipment in the Washington POP was reset to
correct a problem with 845-3050.
- Oct 4, 1999 Power is out at our Liberty POP. This is an
extended outage and CMP is working on things there.
- Oct 4, 1999 Some interuption should be expected in Liberty for
a few minutes while an upgrade takes place there. This should add 5 more
lines.
- Oct 3, 1999 Sunday afternoon, we had trouble with the 593-9397
number which was causing a busy signal. This equipment has been reset. We
are also adding more equipment and more lines (23) sometime Monday if
the gear is delivered on schedule.
- Oct 2, 1999 Noon. The T1 serving Washington and Liberty
customers is down. This has been reported to the phone company and we
await its repair. This was fixed about 3:00pm. There was "fiber trouble in
one of the Central Offices" was the official word from the phone company.
- Oct 1st, 1999 5:00 AM Wisc Bell Atlantic updated the hardware
they have in place at the Wiscasset POP location. This affected
connectivity for customers that dial 882 or 442 numbers. The change out of
hardware took about 30 minutes.
