- September 21, 1997 In the deepest, darkest of Saturday night, the modemserver hazelnut was replaced
with a Portmaster modem server. The dial-in system in Damariscotta was down from 1am thru 5am Sunday morning. This work did
not effect mail or web servcies or dialin to other locations. During Sunday morning, misconfigurations caused a few Mac

problems continue, email me (jp@midcoast.com) the time and phone number
which you had trouble with. Thanks!
- September 12, 1997 Tidewater Telecom has indicated that a "bad" card in their
equipment was causing false busy signals in their system for some MIS customers in the
Damariscotta area. It was replaced, earlier in the week but we only found out today, and
only after calling them to follow up on the problem. Please continue to report any
connectivity problems.
- September 11, 1997 We rebooted Mochajava this evening, as some
people were getting a No-Answer when calling in. We are close to
permanently correcting this problem.
- September 10, 1997 Users dialing the Damariscotta POP on
Tuesday and Wednesday evenings encountered busy signals as a result of a
switch overload at the Tidewater facility. MIS facilities were available,
but were not getting calls. Please report busy signals.
- September 3, 1997 We rewired most of the modems on Tea, and
rebooted Tea. We also hooked up 12 more news lines at the same time, and
found one more bad one which was taken out of service.
