The Searsmont Post Office
is located in the center of town. It is a modern 1500 sq ft building
that was built in 1992 and is owned by the Town of Searsmont. Residents
have a choice of either receiving mail at their homes by rural delivery
or renting a post office box if they would rather receive their mail earlier
in the day. Post office box mail is always ready by 11:00am.

A significant long-range goal of the Board
has been to simplify and consolidate the present land use ordinances into
a single comprehensive ordinance. The new land use ordinance would
eliminate overlap between our current ordinances, clarify conflicting issues,
and incorporate amendments which have been past Board policy.

Your vechicle
must have a "Searsmont Transfer Station Permit" sticker on it to use the
Transfer Station facilities. These are sold at the Town Office and also
at the Transfer Station. The cost is $1.
