CAPE TOWN AND THE CAPE OF GOOD HOPE

Table Mountain with its "Table Cloth" overlooks Cape Town with the Cape Grace Hotel in the center. The five of us on the Extension spent three nights in this fabulous hotel-what a way to end a trip!

With the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront Mall just a short distance away....

..and entertainment day and night.

Beautiful scenery on the way into the Wine country--Stellenbosch and Boschendal manor house and restaurant where we had lunch.

Then to the winery where we were met and served by this lovely attendant.

And finally the Cape where Eleanor proves we made it.

After the Cape we headed back on the Eastern side and stopped at the Black Marlin for lunch. For those who had King Klip, the fish was served on skewers. Very comfortable sitting outside all though it was a bit windy.

We next stopped to view the African Penguin colony. These small birds are also know as Jackass Penguins as their voices demonstrate.

The Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens situated on the eastern slopes of Table Mountain.

What made this trip so great? In our opinion one word says it all and that word is VARIETY. We went to a lot of very different places; traveled by different means; met different people and cultures; and saw many animals. IT JUST CAN'T GET ANY BETTER.
