WINDHOEK

THE CAPITAL OF NAMIBIA

A short flight from Etosha National Park on a Beech 1900 brought us directly to the Windhoek downtown airport which is very close to our home for the night, The Windhoek Country Club. A night to rest up before entering the Namibia desert.
Here we are in Namibia's capital. The Windhoek Country Club and casino!
A view for those wishing to sit and sip a few. Looking downtown Windhoek- a very beautiful and modern city.
The train station Our walking tour takes us by Christuskirche Luthern Church which overlooks the city.
We visit an antique fire engine in a local museum. Much time was spent admiring this beautiful garden......
.....along with its "animals." A trip downtown for supplies to fortify us for the upcoming desert visit.
Not shown was a refreshment stop at the Golden Gate Cafe complete with murals of San Francisco. How did that happen in far away Africa?
Back to our light aircraft and on to Sesriem airstrip in the Namib Desert.
