Christine Savage for Maine State Senate District 12

Jacob is Christine's Grandson

Why Christine is running for the Senate...... "I am running for a seat in the Maine Senate for this little fellow and his friends. When he is grown and looking for employment, I don't want him to have to move out of the state." Small business is the backbone of the Maine's economy. We need to carefully guard the legislation that will effect their ability to remain in Maine and operate a successful business for Jacob and his friends. Christine has received the highest rating from the National Federation of Independent Businesses. She will continue this work for the citizens of District 12 who depend upon these businesses for their livelihood.

Experience

Christine's experience in the Legislature and in the community are what we need in the Maine State Senate. She has spent 20 years in Municipal Government and 6 years in the House of Representatives. This experience has shown Christine the need for providing reasonable assistance with compassion and sincerity. She is well suited to be an effective voice in Augusta for those people. Christine has served as:

• Member, Joint Standing Committees for Transportation and Elections.
• Member of Task Force to Study Health Effects of Reformulated Gasoline.
• Warren Town Manager and Acting Town Manager for Camden.
• Member Union Board of Selectmen
• Budget Committee for Town of Union.
• Treasurer of the People's United Methodist Church
• Member of the Union Area Chamber of Commerce
• Member of the Knox-Lincoln Farm Bureau
• Member of the Knox Agricultural Society
• Member of the Warren Historical Society
• Co-Manager of the Union Housing for the Elderly
• Member of Task Force on Bulk Purchase of Prescription Drugs

Biographical Information

Christine and her husband Elmer Savage are the Parents of four children and Grandparents of Five Grandchildren. They live in Union.
