The Cleveland Bay horse originated in Yorkshire area of England. This versatile breed is best known for jumping, dressage and driving. Often crossed with other breeds, generally TB's, they make exceptional sporthorses. They are very pure, so the type is true and runs through the purebreds and the partbreds always seem more Cleveland than not! The temperment is outstanding, the movement airy and ground covering and the presence, like none other. Unfortunately this outstanding breed is still fighting for survival with less then 700 worldwide. The are listed as critical on the endangered species list.
