Alexie Russ-2006 summer intern

Lexie grew up in midcoast Maine, and graduated with honors from the University of Maine, earning double degrees in psychology and women's studies and a minor in history. She has loved horses since she learned of their existence, and has been taking lessons off-and-on since the age of 7. During her time at Orono, she helped to found the Dressage Club and was an active member of the Witter Farm horse barn co-op for three years. There she volunteered with the University's standardbred re-training program and shared responsibility for two privately owned horses. In the fall, Lexie hopes to serve as a Peace Corps volunteer doing health outreach in Africa, but until then she is happy to be in beautiful Georgetown working on her riding skills with Tide's End Farm Cleveland Bays and TB's.

Molly Cossart-Assistant Farm Manager

Molly Cossart is a wonderful addition to Tide's End Farm. After many years in the corporate world, she has decided to embrace her longtime dream of working on a horse farm. She brings a diverse background that blends well with the current programs and the future direction of the farm. Molly is a Maine native. She grew up riding horses, taking local riding lessons and attended riding camps during summer months in New Hampshire and Vermont. She has great memories of her experiences as both a camper and a counselor in training. She went on to get her degree in Equine Management at Mount Ida College. While attending school she competed as a member of the Mount Ida Equestrian Team in the intercollegiate horse shows. She also volunteered as a spotter in the Spurwink therapeutic riding program. Her internship was spent at Wildwood Farm where she worked as an assistant riding instructor. She has been riding at Tide's End Farm for a couple years and owns a mare named Phoebe who is boarding at our farm. Phoebe is a purebred Cleveland Bay, who we hope will breed with our stallion Sultan in the near 2007.

Jeanie Amerault-Cook and main lady of the kitchen

Tide's End Farm would not be complete without the addition of Jeanie Amerault. Jeanie has been with us since 2004 and her skills in the kitchen are unmatched. She not only serves up scrumtous welcome cakes, but serves the best country breakfast around. Her overall great sense of humor has guests gathering in the kitchen early morning to"hang out" with Jeanie
