AREA LIGHTHOUSES

Monhegan Island Light - built in 1824, is located in the center of Monhegan Island. This light stands 178 feet above the water, second only to Sequin Light.

Tenants Harbor Light, built in 1857, is located on Southern Island off Tenants Harbor. This lighthouse is now a private residence.

Rockland Breakwater Light, built in 1888 and rebuilt in 1902, is located a the end of the mile long breakwater protecting Rockland Harbor.

Pemaquid Point Light, originally built in 1827, guards the western entrance to Muscongus Bay.
