| SAGITTA - 29' Kings Cruiser |
![]() Kings Cruisers were mostly built in Norway. This one dates from 1962. An insurance survey showed several problems that needed correction. |
![]() Refastening was required along the rabbett. A couple planks needed repair. We scarphed in pieces of plank and glued them to the existing good portions. |
![]() Several ribs were cracked. Repairing a rib consists of grinding away a long tapered section back from the crack and laminating in strips of oak. Here the oak laminates are held in place with temporary fasteners. |
![]() Here's the same section of the boat showing the temporary fasteners on the exterior. |
![]() This shows the ribs completed. The temporary fasteners were removed, the overly large laminates ground to shape, and copper rivets installed. |
