What's
going on in Belfast?
If
you are a Troy Howard Middle School girl, or you live in the Belfast
area and are interested in joining Summer Sisters, a weekly summer program (modeled after Girl-to-Girl) for girls going into 7th or 8th grade, please contact Christina at (207) 230-0170.
Girl-to-Girl
Every month from Oct. -June for the past nine years, something
special and different has been offered to girls from Troy Howard, and
those home-schooled in the Belfast area, in this after-school mentoring
program.
Meeting once or twice a month after school, girls and women from the community get together to do different activities. This year activities have included, pumpkin carving, Belly dance, African dance, a spa activity focused on body image and healthy living, silk scarf making, and an activity centered around friendship and loss. The group also went and saw The Firebird, put on by the Belfast Maskers.
