Girl-to-Girl
Some Troy Howard girls and women got together after school in June 1997 for a neat art project called "Postcards From Me" led by the late Jamien Morehouse. It was sort of a trial run to see if people would enjoy getting together and experiencing something new. Well, it worked! And thus the Girl-to-Girl program began. Each month since then, something special and different has been offered to girls from Troy Howard, and those home-schooled in the Belfast area, in this after-school mentoring program.

Activities have included sports such as belly dancing, yoga, and race walking, making clay masks, pumpkin carving, theatre workshops, and even a trip to the Bangor Children's Museum. One year's group created a Girl Power bear for the 2nd Annual Belfast Bear Fest!

Meetings begin in October and are the first Thursday of the month from 2:30PM to 4:30PM. Girls or women from the community who would like to participate can contact Babette Nealy at Troy Howard Middle School or Christina Venditti, at Mainely Girls, at 230-0170 or by email at Mainelygirls@gmail.com. You are welcome to join at any time during the year, and home-schooled girls are welcome!

Girl-to-Girl is made possible by our wonderful sponsors, many of which are local area businiesses including: Atlantic Insurance and Benefits, The Belfast Framer, The Cherished Home, Hannaford, Old Stuff, and United MidCoast Charities.
We THANK YOU for all your support and making this program possible!
