The
Thin Line
The
Thin Line is ready to come to your school or community! This 30-minute
one-woman play by Cathy Plourde addresses eating disorders and has been
seen by youth grades 7 - 12 as well as in colleges. Adults who work with
girls and boys who are struggling with eating disorder issues -- and their
friends -- are moved by this performance and pleased to use it as a vehicle
for breaking the silence about this potentially fatal mental illness.

Butt
of Course!
Commissioned
by The Knox County Coalition Against Tobacco and Mainely Girls, this play
by Cathy Plourde, playwright for social change and adolescent health advocate,
addresses the complex social reasons girls start using tobacco and continue
to use it. Originally performed in the Camden Opera House on Friday, March
9th, 2001 before an audience of 350 middle and high school girls, and
50 adults who accompanied them, 25 minute play (also directed by Cathy)
served as a preventative measure - reaching girls who have not started
to smoke, or have only tried it a time or two.
YOU the MAN
YOU the MAN by Cathy Plourde is a one-man show that has provoked
conversations about unhealthy relationships, dating violence and sexual
assault nationwide. For 45 minutes, six characters use humor, youth culture,
honest questions, and multiple perspectives to explore
these timely issues. The script does not assign blame to any of the characters,
providing opportunities for greater understanding and empathetic dialogue.
