THE BUG IS BACK
AND IT's BLACK

Black 98 Diesel

On April 24, 1998 at 11:15 AM I became the proud parent (opps! I guess that would be owner) of a bouncing baby Black Turbo Diesel 5 Speed 98 Beetle. Oh how great it is to be back in a beetle again, and in this one the heater actually works.
The new 1.9 TDI may look tiny but it packs some serious wallop!

The New Beetle's December Adventures
snobug1
Well our new beetle just saw its first snow 12/19/98, just in time for Christmas. In honor of the season she requested that we put on her Santa hat.
The New Beetle's April Adventures
On a recent archaeological expedition to our lower driveway, the New Beetle came upon the desecrated remains of one of its ancestors. We were amazed to see it exhibit behavior previously known only to exist in humans and elephants. The New Beetle seemed to recognize the remains as one of its own kind and paused for a moment of silence and mourning. This was truly a historic moment and we feel fortunate to have been able to capture it on film for posterity. We will keep careful watch for additional undocumented behavior of this new subspecies. If we are lucky enough to catch these acts on film, we will share them with you through this page.
A moment of silence

The New Beetle's May Adventures
Dog and Bug The New Beetle recently meet up with a fellow refugee from the Fatherland. Tosha, our 4 year old rotweiller, was recently paroled from the animal shelter and was in search of meaningful employment. The New Beetle, who was growing tired of its new found celebrity status, decided that a little added security would be nice. The integrated alarm system is helpful, but there is nothing quite as effective as a big ugly dog when you are trying to avoid these unwanted finger prints on the windows. So the two decided to form a partnership.
The keys are in the ignition.
Feel free to take it for a ride!
Do you feel lucky?

The New Beetle's June Adventures
Bug with Ghost When reviewing some of the pictures which we had taken of the New Beetle we came across a shocking picture with super natural implications. It appears that our driveway may be haunted. The ghost of our previous vehicle, a red 89 Saab, has begun to make its presence known by showing up in images of the New Beetle. As I am writng this the theme music from the Twilight Zone keeps running through my head.
The message from beyond the title transfer seems to be saying
"After 187,000 good miles how could you treat me like this?"
Ghostly Image
