The sport of fencing has always attracted me ever since I was a kid. There seemed to be a grace and elegance associated with it that appealed to me. When I was in college I had an opportunity to take some basic modern fencing lessons and had a great time with it. But after graduating and finding myself in the real world, fencing took a back seat to other more practical pursuits. However, after settling back in Maine, I discovered an active fencing community and joined a local club. I've had the pleasure of fencing competitively for a number of years, and now fence primarally for recreation. It's a great sport and I highly recommend it to anyone!

This is a group photo of the fencing club when I first joined. I'm that good looking guy in the front row, just left of center.
