For Children ~
Rally Day September 7th
Spirit Rock, the Rockland Congregational Church children's program, employs the rotation model of education, which is a refreshing and creative approach to sharing spirituality with kids. The rotation model explores one biblical story or spiritual theme per month through kid-friendly workshops, including Art, Drama, Music, Games, Cooking, Cinema and more. As only one lesson is explored through these different creative sessions, the program encourages versatility and imagination, plus the repetition that kids love.
In our education wing, a classroom has been dedicated to each of these forms of expression; there is an art room, a music room, a drama room, and a cinema room. The wing’s hallway leads to the Temple, the initial gathering place for the children each week, where we pray and chat before lessons.
In addition, we also provide nursery care for infants up to age 3.
For Adults ~
Join director of education and author Carole Hallundbaek for a book study of the bestselling Christian novel 90 Minutes In Heaven, by Don Piper. This spiritual bestseller is about Baptist minister Don Piper’s death experience in which he experienced heaven and was greeted by those who had influenced him spiritually.
Meeting dates announced soon.
Retreats
Throughout the year, the Rockland Congregational Church offers day-long retreats that help attendees prepare for the holiday seasons or simply recharge their faith – with song, readings, gentle movement including yoga, nourishing meals, meditation and prayer, workshops, and the gift of fellowship.
These include the annual Advent Retreat in December, which features the popular Celtic Advent Spiral, and a Spring Retreat that focuses on renewal and new growth at springtime.
