The Island Market was recently purchased by longtime island residents David and Linda Mahan (known locally as "Shake and Loony"). Our goal is to provide our customers with the highest level of service and satisfaction at competitive prices. Many of Loony's famous desserts and baked goods,which you may have sampled previously at our old restaurant,The Blue Heron, or at The Dark Harbor House are available by the piece or may be ordered in advance. Party platters, hors d'oeuvres trays, picnic baskets, sandwiches, soups and salads will soon be available to make your entertaining a breeze.
Because we are located on an island, we realize that we can't always compete with the big supermarket chains and discount warehouses on some items. But compare our prices, particularly in the Meat and Deli Departments, and on lots of items throughout the store, and we think you will be pleasantly surprised. And of course you can't beat our friendly, courteous and knowledgable staff. We are always happy to special order those hard to find items which many of our discerning customers require.
