Hi, my name is David Mahan, but everyone calls me Shake. I've lived here in Islesboro, Maine for almost 20 years, but often fled elsewhere to work for the winter months. I met my wife Linda (aka Loony) about 10 years ago, and we were married in 1987. Our son Max was born 3 years ago. I have owned and operated two businesses here, The Island Pub (1978-1979), which served pizza and beer and was reknowned for the best live music anywhere (don't remind the neighbors!), and the Blue Heron Restaurant (1988-1992), a more refined establishment which received many favorable reviews from regional and national critics. More recently, my wife and I have managed the Sunset Terrace at Cliffdwellers in Nevis, West indies, and the restaurant at the Dark Harbor House in Islesboro.
