SUMMER OF 2003 SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Memorial Weekend: May 24-26    Start the summer off right with a sail aboard SHANTIH II

Maine Lighthouse Week: June 16-22     Sail aboard SHANTIH II and see these historic beacons of the coastline.
The best way to see picturesque Indian Island Lighthouse is from the deck of a sailboat. The view of Curtis Island,
Rockland Breakwater, and Owls Head Lighthouses from the water is awe inspiring. Don't forget to bring your camera.

The North Atlantic Blues Festival: July 12-13    Many great blues singers will be performing in Rockland's Harbor Park.
Enjoy a day of blues music and cap off your day with a sunset dinner sail aboard SHANTIH II.

The Wooden Boat ShowJuly 18-20    Celebrate Maine's rich Maritime Heritage of wooden boatbuilding. There will be
activities, demonstrations, entertainment and more at Rockland's Harbor Park. Want to see the classic wooden boats
at the dock but don't like crowds? Sail on SHANTIH II and see the festivities from the water.

Friendship Sloop Days: July 22-24    See the historic Friendship Sloops races (the original lobster boats!).

Maine Lobster Festival: July 30-August 3   Join us and enjoy Maine's finest lobster while sailing beautiful Penobscot Bay.
World famous festival takes place ashore. Maritime displays, entertainment, food, lobster crate races and more in Rockland.

Eggemoggin Reach Regatta: August 1-3    Dozens of the finest classic wooden boats gather to race in this spectacular event. If you are a
wooden boat lover, this sail is for you. Sail onboard SHANTIH II as part of the racing crew. We sailed to a third place finish in
our class last year. This year we are going for the trophy.

Maine Boats and Harbors Show: August 8-10    More boats in the water, food, music and special events at Rockland Harbor Park.
What's a festival on the coast without boats in the water! Especially if you can experience the thrill of sailing one, too.

Camden Windjammer Weekend: August 29-31   Schooner parade of sail, fireworks and maritime events, Camden Harbor.
            This is the largest single gathering of the Maine Windjammer Fleet. Sail among the Schooners in the Parade of Sail;
an opportunity of a lifetime to see them all in one place under full sail. Bring your camera!

Fall Foliage Tours: Late September- October.   Join us for a lobster lunch or sunset sail and enjoy the breath-taking
beauty of the fall colors from the water.

And for our family, the most exciting event of the summer will be the launching of our new 65' Alden Schooner HERON.
We are hoping for a June launching, but the exact day is yet to be decided. We will post it when it is known, and all are invited.
