Another summer sailing season has ended. Our thanks to the many people who joined us on HERON this past summer.
We had a great time and look forward to an even better 2006 season.
We will be charting a course to southern latitudes for the winter (Bermuda to be precise), but will continue to take reservations

Join us aboard the beautiful Schooner Yacht HERON for the sail of a lifetime.
HERON is a brand new (launched July 2003) 65' Schooner yacht built and operated by The Wooden Boat  Company of Camden, Maine. She was designed by the famous yacht designer John G. Alden in 1929 and was one of his favorite design. HERON is a traditional wooden vessel built of the finest materials and to the highest quality yacht standards. She is a real work of art and a feast for the eyes. With a roomy cushioned cockpit and spacious decks, passengers can enjoy a relaxing sail in true comfort.
The Maine Lobster Lunch and Gourmet Sunset Sail will take you around the islands and shoreline of the Camden Rockport area. Beyond the breathtaking scenery of the Camden Hills and spruce clad islands you will enjoy seeing countless seals, porpoises and seabirds as we sail the bay with only the sound of the wind in our sails. The numerous lighthouses in the area make for great photo opportunities. Join us for an afternoon Maine Lighthouse Tour to get a close up view from the water. And the Camden, Rockport, Rockland area is home to the largest traditional "windjammer" schooner fleet in the world. Sail in company with these amazing vessels and you will feel as though you have slipped back in time. You may even become part of an impromptu yacht race! Or join us for a week of classic yacht regattas and sail with some of the finest classic wooden yachts on the East Coast.
Breathe in the fresh Maine air and let the magic happen.
        HERON is also available for private custom charters. Make memories with a birthday, wedding, proposal, honeymoon or anniversary sail aboard this beautiful classic yacht. Enjoy a Downeast Lobster Dinner while sailing among the pristine islands of Penobscot Bay. Your corporate outing or club function will be enhanced by a sail on a schooner whose design has proven itself in past Bermuda races by the designer himself. Or maybe your family just wants to do something a little different this vacation, like a Puffin Tour to the outer islands to see the puffin colony, or do a day long tour of the many lighthouses in Penobscot Bay. Whatever your idea may be, we are willing to work with you to create the perfect sailing experience for your group.
