The music committee has been meeting on a regular basis since September to oversee the music ministry of the church. The committee looks at all aspects of the church’s music ministry to ensure that the music aims to glorify God.  All members are in agreement that the music ministry is going very well.  We look to God to show us ways in which we can improve our ministry as He leads and instructs us.

The choir, led by Norma Stanley meets weekly on Sunday afternoons.  They sing in the AM worship service approximately once a month and present a Christmas and Easter Cantata.  New choir members have been added this year and all members are greatly appreciated.

Vocalists and musicians help with the congregational singing in the AM and PM Sunday services.  New praise and worship choruses are introduced on a regular basis. This group helps enhance the worship experience.  Diane Patten oversees and organizes this group.  This ministry of all involved is greatly appreciated.

Our church’s musicians are as follows:

Piano:  Beth Young

Organ:  Ruth Wade

Flute:  Amy English, Rachel Chase

Violin:  Beth Chase

Key Board:  Diane Patten

Guitar:  Brenda Cayouette, Greg Chase and Aaron English

Vocalists and musicians also participate in special music during the AM and PM Sunday services.  This is going very well and is very much appreciated.

Special outside music groups come in for concerts a few times each year.  Each group is evaluated to ensure that they glorify God and that their purpose is not to entertain man, they are Word-centered not weak theologically, and focus upon the work of Christ and not man.

Music ministry is a very important part of our church and we are grateful to have a part in this.  As of September 2008 we have been meeting approximately every 2 months. Members are as follows:  Diane Patten, Secretary; Ruth Wade; Beth Young; Norma Stanley; Mark Cayouette and Karen Lane.  Pastor David attends each meeting as well.

Respectfully Submitted,

Karen Lane
